SENIORS' PROGRAM

The Seniors Program of St. Sarkis Armenian Church is a community service for the elderly. Up to 25 of our cherished Seniors participate in events, lunches at restaurants, lectures, movies, Bingo, sightseeing tours and visitation and support to the sick and elderly.
Feeling the need for our elderly to meet and socialize with each other, the program began in 1996 with the approval and support of both, St. Sarkis pastor at that time, Rev. Father Nerses Jebejian and the Parish Council. Through the dedication of Nancy Cappon, who taught our Seniors basic English once a week for many years, they are able to communicate outside of Armenian community. In addition to the language barrier, many of our Seniors do not drive. Our kind and dedicated volunteers have been providing transportation for participating in the Church Services, fellowship, events, functions, and medical appointments. We appreciate and welcome anyone who would like to donate a few hours of their time during the year to assist the Seniors' Program, as this will truly brighten a senior’s day.
