Why is membership so important?
1. A BIBLICAL REASON: Christ's followers live out His commission by formally joining a local body of believers. We call that process church membership. 2. A CULTURAL REASON: You attend our rich and diverse services and community events, and you value the sense of community with others. You support our ministry and programs. 3. A SPIRITUAL REASON: St. Sarkis is your spiritual home. Becoming a member enables you to maximize your spiritual growth and participation and gives back because you have received. 4. A PRACTICAL REASON: All members are eligible to vote on major initiatives at the Parish Assembly (February/March 2020), and hold office. St. Sarkis depends on members who are active, thoughtful, and engaged to help shape the future of our church and community. Dues are ages 18-25 ($25) and ages 26 and older ($100). According to the By-Laws of the Eastern Diocese of the America, all executive board members (Parish Council, Women's Guild, School Board and ACYOA Srs.) are required to be dues paying members. Dues and pledges should be handed to any member of the Parish Council or Fr. Ghevond directly before December 31st of the current year. This will allow you to vote in the next election, which will take place in the following February. Membership is our public promise to St. Sarkis. It is each of us, standing up and saying, "St. Sarkis is my church. I believe in this church and all it stands for. I am a part of its life and I play a role in making decisions about its future." St. Sarkis is your church. St. Sarkis is all of our church. Join us and your fellow parishioners in making an active commitment and continuing our church for the years to come.
